Sip has been implemented since 7x.
It sucked, but now it's better and better.

The HOTEL application works off HAL link or direct V24.
The phones can talk SIP.

What s the issue with GPO in here ?

I think you cannot create SIP phones with hotel feature Frank. Maybe that's the problem. Moreover I think they'll have a problem with the LED on Teledex to work via this configuration.

yes, you are right,
right now as R8.0.1 in ALU sip phones are not being treated as full-grade objects.

they lack:
-CSTA
-TAPI
-Hotel/hospital
-customization like ALU's ip-phones
-MWI (the led light)
-DR-Link
-call-by-name
-passwords stronger than 4 DIGITS (Am I wrong with that?)

etc... etc...
for simple sip phones i whould not go with OXE, its not needed to have many Telco features, but not be able to use them.

what phone vendor, what model ?

(also, for some phones from GXP-* family there are 3-4 buttons that could be used similar to "supervision").

for me and linksys phones MWI does not work (or i've got too much blood in the coffie)

cisco phone ....

I tried cisco with sip trunk to alcatel , and voicemail on Asterisk and AVST.
Both have the MWI working. Did not try with 46x5

From my Lab,
Features are not working here....
- DND
- Guest's name update
- I am not sure about LED lamp.
- call by name

Big problem is DND and Guest name update for us.

1. OXE can update DB after FCS do check-in process.
But when I used sip phone call to operator (4035), The display is the name that I program in SIP phone not Guest name.

Under mgr/user menu, I can see guest name update (at name&first name parameter).

2. FCS send DND to OXE
I checked at dynamics state user under mgr. This parameter already changed state to DND mode but others users still can call to SIP phone.

Gigabit Passive Optical Network

A technology implemented nowadays by some ISP companies, the idea is this, so if we have some building (500+ appartments) why to go with 500 copper pairs and then use xDSL? or why to go with coaxial and do a 500 CATV modems...
ISP go with fibre, and from fibre they split services. Maybe term Tripleplay is a good word here.

Gpon endpoint are expensive at present, so i've seen many solutions like that: a few endpoint for 1 building and in that building good L3+ switch and 2 pairs of ethernet copper to every apartment.

Very good solution for fast internet (limit is a 10/100 full duplex Ethernet) and IPTV. To have a voice you (the 1st poster or ISP company) go for SIP user + ATA gateway like linksys papt-2.
Maybe putting a GD+SLI16+SLI16... whould be better (modem/fax transparency, clip...., DC -48V or T0 to end-customer etc..) but cost-effective and working scenario is to have many ATAs or channelbank.
End Customer only needs to see a Ethernet connection to internet/iptv and RJ11 connecor (ofter on blue/brown pair from UTP) for phone.

IIRC ALU had some solution for GPON a 3-4 years ago, but price was very, very overwhelming.
