Hi Stoffen,

I'm running TiMOS-B-13.0.R6 and yes indeed that's the problem.

I had same MAC addresses under the interfaces although i used different ports (vSIM1 1/1/1 ---- vSIM2 1/1/3).

I managed to ping the interfaces from one side to another and works like a charm now.

Thanks for your time.

Cheers
Ed

Can anyone share TiMOS-SR-12.0.R4-vm.qcow2 image?

Appreciate these links are ~6 years old now but really interested in obtaining TiMOS-SR-12.0.R4-vm.zip and other images for use with EVE-NG for study purposes. Some links are no longer available, some take me to the Nokia website where I have registered but have no rights to access software downloads. I'm a legacy Omniswitch R6/R7 ACSE looking to study ALU service routers. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi All,

I have gone through almost all of the pages of this post. But still I am not able to get the 7750 VM up and running on a KVM box (ubuntu 16.04). The Graphical console is stuck at booting, whereas the serial console does not proceed after the below given output. I have nested virtualization enabled on the ubuntu host machine.

Any help would be highly appreciated.
I have tried 2 image versions viz. TiMOS-SR-12.0.R6-vm and sros-vsim-14.0R6.qcow2. but none of them have worked. I have attched the dump of the virsh file below and this is the max output I get on serial console --

root@haxbp22:~# telnet 127.0.0.1 4560
Trying 127.0.0.1...

Hi Rahul.
The boot sequence seems correct.
Does nothing happen after the

Code: Select all

Running in a KVM/QEMU virtual machine
Do you run an Intel CPU? I've read somewhere that AMD CPU does not work, but never tried myself.

It should continue to boot, or at least give you some error message in the serial console window.

However, it seems you have not defined any Timos settings in your XML.

Try to add the following to your XML:

Code: Select all

<domain type='kvm'>
  <name>vSR1</name>
  <uuid>your-uuid-string-here</uuid>
  <memory unit='KiB'>4194304</memory>
  <currentMemory unit='KiB'>4194304</currentMemory>
  <vcpu placement='static'>2</vcpu>
  <sysinfo type='smbios'>
    <system>
      <entry name='product'>TIMOS:address=10.0.0.2/24@active slot=A chassis=SR-a4 card=cpm-a</entry>
    </system>
  </sysinfo>
  <os>
    <type arch='x86_64' machine='rhel6.6.0'>hvm</type>
    <boot dev='hd'/>
    <smbios mode='sysinfo'/>
  </os>
This should give you a SR-a4 with no MDA.
You can modify the chassis and cards to match something supported by your image.
For single VM, go for the SR-c4/c12 chassis on older software, or SR-1 SR-1s in more recent software.

Hi.
If I'm remembering correct, the 12.0 was vRR only.
However, it seems that the one you have booted requires license to be able to do anything.
If you don't have a license, I would recommend using SROS 13.0.
13.0 is fully functional without license, but reboots every 60 minutes.
