How many shelfs do you have ?
On each shelf, how many "CS" board ?
Are you going to have Alcatel come, or do you want someone to work for you ? My company cannot work with Africa, but I know another one who could. If you are interested, contact me off line by email through the board.

At first - you have CS and GD - when ethernet link between CS and GD broken - telephone application will be stopped. Connect CS and GD with direct ethernet cable.

Thanks vad and Frank. There is a cable between GD and CS.
Sometimes the telephony applications is working and then it stops.
You have errors CMISE and REMGEN.
Since today it came back online. I turned off the power from the box for the whole night and today when I turned it on I don't know why but it is working so far for the whole day. I will see how long that will last.
Just to let you know our box worked for almost three years without interruption with no problems. This is the first major issue.
I need to know if it is the hard disk or some other component not funtioning. But before going to any outside intervention I want to have a good understanding of the problem.
Frank thanks for your help. My boss contacted Alcatel France and they recommended some BP here in west Africa in a neighboring country which for them is more cost effective. I appreciate your offer of help to give me addresses of your friends in the field if needed.
By the way I looked at the other post where you have also responded so I will follow our discussions here.

I just checked one of your post, talking about runtel.
When you type runtel, is has to be uppercase! RUNTEL

file errors

When doing the checkdb command , if you get an error about the file ex_serverm , you need to replace this file with the file before you do any kind of backup otherwise your backup will be corupt and won't load again if required.
We have been using R6.1 and after a fichges_recover_dico this file is removed for some reason.
You put the file back onto location usr3/mao.
run a checkdb again and the error will disappear.
The entity errors are not to be worried about as they just mean that you have not got your entity completely configured to a point where the switch is happy. I.E no routing in all 3 routes for each mode or that the routing number is not know to the system.

See TC0410: Risk of misfunctioning if the management of overflow directory number of entities/attendant groups is not performed
Solution: Manage the various overflow directory numbers until the checkdb et telephone application incidents disappear.
----------
For the other topics you should read TC0296: Collecting information in case of CPU crashes (ed 02 26.11.2003)
There are useful commands like:
incvisu -1
excvisu -1
traceboot -v (Unix)
as root: /usr2/oneshot/mtch/memcheck
And you should check these files:
/DHS3dyn/incid/incpbm.1
/tmpd/DHS3-INIT.*
/var/log/messages or syslog (Linux only)
Furthermore you can try
smartctl -e /dev/hda
smartctl -a /dev/hda
