@cavagnaro: thanks for your suggestion. I have Hyper-V enabled on my machine but no luck so far. I am searching around to find if there is a qemu tag to access the visualization acceleration that is the same as "-machine accel=kvm" but could not find anything.

Hello,

On my side, I finally installed a dual boot using ubuntu 14.04 LTS. That did the trick.
Now when I run 6 vSROS (with -machine accel=kvm) and 4 Cisco routers, I got 35%-40% CPU load (memory almost full), except when ALU vrouters restarts each hour; reboot is easily detected when earing computer fans going full speed ;o)

Regards.
Franck.

Greetings everyone. Thank you for such a comprehensive thread to get the virtual lab operational. I have a question for you all about operational stability.

I have configured an older client with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The client is a Dual Core system with 4Gb of RAM. I've installed the packages recommended by the commentators in this thread. Using Virtual Machine, I've been able to get 2 VMs operational on the vSROS. They work very well with low latency and are not taxing the client's hardware. I've connected the VMs through the bridge links and get connectivity between the two VMs. My problem is that the VMs reboot themselves after a period of time. They come back up okay but the rebooting is causing issues while completing configuration of the SRs. I can provide more specific information about the system, installation and problem with specificity, if required.

Thank you for the assistance.

Scott

Hi Scott,
Unless you configure your VM with a license provided by your ALU business contact the VM will keep rebooting every 60min. Nothing is wrong with you client's hardware. Run show system license to check how much time you have till reboot. When you admin save your config should be there after reload.

Ahh, completely overlooked that. Thank you rifster. I'll get with our ALU contacts and get a license. Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

I am very excited about the opportunity to integrate the Alcatel 7750 SR into the GNS3 environment. I am registered on the Alcatel website and have the base NRS1 certification but can't seem to find a way to download it.

Please can someone advise me how I can get the TiMOS-SR-12.0.R4-vm.zip or TiMOS-SR-12.0.R6-vm.zip Alcatel Software. I am particularly interested in the precise procedure or contact person Alcatelunleashed.com members holding the software have taken to obtain the 7750 SR virtual machine called SR OS-VM from the website.

All responses will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all.

Kind Regards,

Freggy

Hi all,

Windows 7
GNS3 1.2.1
Alcatel-Lucent Image (TIMOS-SR-12.0.R6-vm.zip)
RAM 1920 MB for Qemu VM
I have qemu based applicances

I started routers. I configure OSPF between the two routers and save the configuration with the admin save command and I closed GNS3. Then i want to open this project again and start the routers. I see that all of my configuration is gone. Both routers has a default configuration.

How can I solve this problem ?

Regards

After configuring the routers, did you save the config with the '/admin save' command? If not, the router will load a default configuration.
