Hi

Our (KFUPM) system is omni pcx enterprise, 7.1 which is linked with public exchange through PCM E1. Trunk Type is R2/MFC and line signaling is PCM Q421. The problem is that we don't get caller id for the international incoming calls and also from some national operators and mobile operators. We oped an case for E1 support to our public exchange telecom company and they told us like this
" " KFUPM should modify their PBX so that even if it receives A-number category=7 (International #) it may continue to ask for the A-numbers, however there is catch in this that some countries do not send the A-numbers so calls from them may fail to terminate at KFUPM unless KFUPM PBX could also make more modifications for such calls without A-number to be accepted and not rejected.""

What are the things /perametre we should do/modify/check in our Alcatel omni pcx system now, please?

Thanks

yes Ybelal, create an entry in the translator such as..
A
remove 1 digit
insert trunk /ARS prefix followed by international prefix.

Well it needs to be clarified.
Caller's number (A-number) is not sent? Then you couldn't do anything on your side.
If you do not see iA-number on digital phone's display only for some calls then supply traces for two calls - one when you see A-number and second one when you do not get A-number.

Does it mean that if there is no A-number sent by the caller, we can't get their ID? Actually some other sites ( using alcatel PABX or other Manufacturers PABX) getting caller ID for international calls and calls from mobile operator, only our site don't get the caller ID from the same international caller or the mobile and other operator. But also we get caller ID from some (only a few operator ) of those other operator.

Sure. If it is not sent how PBX can find it?

Only trace would show what digits you receive on Caller number request.
