Open your PM5 an go to System Miscellaneous-> Messages & Music -> Music on Hold and select Music Source Tape.
The AFU-Board needs to be plugged onto the CPU.

I think background music doesnt work in IPtouch phones (40X8 series).

I had the same proble with IP 4038 and 4028 although in the user manual a procedure for activating backround music is described, it doesn't work. With UA same system all OK.

I have the background music working when an outside caller is placed on hold. I do not have music playing through my 4039 sets. I have programmed a key that prompts me for the operator password and the check box begins flashing. I would assume this indicates the background music is enabled, but I hear nothing coming through my sets. What am I missing?
The information in the expert documentation makes no sense.....
"To enable background music - F.K.: Sp or LS or Sp+ or LS+"
Anyone know what this means?

Finally!!!

Under each Users/Base Stations add a key - Keytype = "Feature Key", KeyFunction = "SP", SP Type = "SP on/off".

Feature will not work on IP phones, Only Digital. (I believe this is only in the OXO world, as an OXE support engineer kept telling me it would work on IP phones).

It wont work for the ip phone, as it will use up a dsp resource , so in the firmware it is told not too.
Well that is the explaination i recieved.
