Hi

We have alcatel omni pcx enterprise- rel 7.1, 12 nodes, arround 10,000 extension in total( analog+digital+ip). if we now connect a cisco call server and try to use some ip phones from cisco, what factors we should check, what might be the difficulties in features, facilities, numbering plans,accounting...etc? Is there is any other serious issues?
If anyone help us informing these , would be great and very helpful, please.

Thak you.

Hi ,

From what I remember, cisco phones need a boot file.
If you have it, or if it's on a boot server, or if it boots already, then all you need is a SIP trunk.
After that, it works like a charm. Might have some issues with DTMF, but that's another story.
I installed a couple of them on different phones.. CISCO SIP and POLYCOM SIP.

Thanks Frank. Actually we are going to install a Cisco Call manager server and connect that with our Alcatel OXE (crystal cs) by Qsig. After that will use many Cisco ip phones in our ip network. will ther be any problem like DTMF, Call supervision, substitution..etc in cross platform i mean between cisco phones in cisco server and alcatel phones in oxe system? will there be any problem of incoming / outgoing DID/DOD numbering or calling problem?

Thank you.

So it's not like you are trying to connect a cisco phone to an oxe.
If you use qsig, then cisco have their own features, so alcatel.
