SIP device external outgoing calls

Hi
Is there any limitation from alcatel to make outgoing external calls from SIP device? I have OXE Rel9.1, When i create number with SIP extension then external incoming and outgoing (DID/DOD) Both working fine from that extension but when i create a SIP Device with same extension number, the only external incoming calls to that number work but i can't make external outgoing calls from that extension(local call working)!!
Any advise please.

Hi ybelal

It has. up to R8, oxe only had SIP device. From R9, oxe has SIP device and SIP extensions with a lot of possibilities for using oxe features. Oxe databook has a piece that has SIP END OF POINT LEVEL OF SERVICE. It explains so well this difference.
Maybe experts from this forum have a better explanation about this case.

Thank you. . Actually when i try from sip extension then i can take outgoing trunk by dialing the prefix ( which is *9 for me) and can make out going calls but when i create same extension with sip device and try to take outgoing trunk by dialing *9 then it refuse. so, Still waiting for experts opinion in this forum on this issue

If I recall correctly one is supposed to use SIP Device if a analog adapter with a fax connected. Faxes usually can call outside, so it is strange. Is there anything in the SIP trace?

I am using x-lite sip client (x-lite, 3cx...)from a pc which is connected to oxe network. Local calls working fine, only problem with external outgoing as sip device.

I have the same problem with the external call, possible firewall problem ( port udp or tcp rtp....)

I also encounter this problem, when i Call this X-lite to Extension no problem, but i called from the extension to x-lite then pick up the phone " x-lite " when it has always failed.

Dear ybelal,

Could you please attach traces for working and non-working External Calls? And also, please use motortrace 3 on the OXE so that we could see all the traces.

if using sip device (not extn) check toll level on the trunk gp (PNC).
