SD card instead of HDD (2Gb).
Some features by default (metering over IP for example --> subjected for license until now; message number and length)
200Pimphony sessions
etc

Hi Tot3nkopf

Has Alcatel already released any documentation about R.8?
I've read about 16 DSPs on board ( it's very good ) and SD card.

Thanks.

Haven't seen official docs yet but Alcatel have done a roadshow here and through the new features etc.

Disadvantage, no more then 48 SIP channels max (16 on power CPU, 32 on option board)
No Co CPU possible, so 48 channels is absolute maximum.

Why would you need more than 48 DSPs on an OXO?

If you have anything that large you should probably be looking at an OXE.

From what I picked up nearly all features can now be run from the PowerCPU without a HDD, record online and MLAA to name two.
The only features that still require a HDD will be Contact Centre Statistics and Voicemail storage for more than 4 hours.
As already explained there is a 16 port DSP card and you can upgrade the pbx to have 48 DSP maximum by installing an optional 32 port VoIP board.
It was mentioned at our roadshow that when you upgrade from R7.X to R8.X you will recieve a PowerCPU and the chassis you have installed presently will work with the PowerCPU although the Compact Edition may need a new power supply. I would assume if you have a R2 chassis then this is compatible (basically any chassis that support a CPUe-X will support the PowerCPU)
