SecureCRT (Mac) + 4635 (MOXA)

Our company is transitioning from NorTel to ALU OXE, we've temporarily implemented a 4635 due to easy of deployment as recommended by our sales team. I'm trying to access the 4635 which has a MOXA adapter on it so we can telnet into it. If I use ANY telnet application other than HyperTerminal, any option I enter seems to send a return twice, which backs me out to the main menu.

For example, at the 4635 main menu I enter 9+enter key to get to Change Mailbox, briefly the Change Mailbox submenu comes up, and then it brings me back to the main menu. As if at the submenu I pressed the enter key again.

I've tried tweaking various settings on SecureCRT with no success, native Mac Terminal has the same issue, various Telnet applications on my Windows PC (including SecureCRT for Windows) shows the same issue as well. HyperTerminal does not.

All the telnet applications are set for VT100 emulation.

Thoughts? Suggestions? HyperTerminal isn't our IT's standard application for telnet (SecureCRT is) and thus I'm trying to figure out how I can get it to interoperate for our telecom team.

Thanks,

Chris

I would check also MOXA RS323 port settings via web-access or telnet to MOXA box.

Which setting on the MOXA do you think we should check?

With the help of VanDyke (SecureCRT) we were able to find the fix. It's two fold, firstly in the 4635's session .ini file add the following line at the TOP:

D:"Server Requires Bare CR"=00000001

You may also have to modify a preexisting line that same the same thing. The last variable in the line is changed from a 0 to a 1.

If using a MacOS X version, the .ini file is located under <username>/library/application support/vandyke/securecrt/config/sessions/<name of 4635 session saved>.ini

Second, in the session option, under telnet select "Force one character at a time".

Worked like a charm.
