I have been tyring to set this up, but I am not making progress.
I cant find the MIB file for this device. Does anybody know where I can get it?
Does anybody have experience using a Matricon OPC server to do this?
Thanks for the help

Hi,
if you mean the
MIB of 6855, it varies depending on the SW version.
ps: No experience using a MatrikonOPC.

ok, SNMP is working. Yea!
I am using the standard RFC1213 MIB. This will give me the port status using the .ifOperStatus.01 trap. I am also using .ifSpeed.01 to get me the data rate on each port.
Here is what I am doing- I am displaying status for all components in a redundant network for a transit system. I need a trap that will give me the over all health of that device. I went the the MIB files and there is way too much data.
What trap or traps would be my best indicator to display on a GUI the general health of the switch?
I could just use ping status and ping turnaround time.
This is for a main overview screen that shows major devices, including switches, and redundant communication links.
Right now I have it set up so that if you drill down into the switch object, the port object is green if there is a data rate greater than 0, and i display the data rate as an integer.
thanks

What do you means under "general health of the switch"?
AlcatelIND1Health.mib is the general MIB Health Monitoring.
You can use one of the GUI MIB browsers for comfort.
