Website security certificate on AOS switches

Post by nikolami »

Hello,

if on AOS switch is enabled HTTPS access, every time when connecting to switch there is a annoying web page "There is a problem with this website's security interface".

I found explanation from Microsoft, but this doesn't help much in case of Alcatel's switches.

Is there a way to avoid showing this web page "There is a problem with this website's security interface" when HTTPS is using to access to AOS switch?

Hi,
I hope you have already installed the certificate.
Then you need to disable the display of Address Mismatch, in:
Tools->Internet Options->Advanced
Section: Security
Deselect "Warn about certificate address mismatch"

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I would not deselect Certificate Mismatch warning, if the PC is used for internet access as well.
You would not see warnings e.g. for MITM Attacks.

You need to install the Alcatel self signed certificate in your Certificate Store. as stated in Alcatel Network Configuration Guide. (and stated in msdn as well.

I have not found/tried out yet how to replace the "alcatel selfsigned" certificate with a certificate signed by the company certificate authority which may already be trusted by the computers.
