Hello Forum!

Folks I need quick help

We are installing Omniswitch 6400 for our client which will share our infrastructure

We do have Dell Core switch with few VLANs. 2 of them Voice and Production will be shared

Production = 400
Voice = 405

Port number 48 is used as uplink port to Core switch.

When we restart port on core switch 6400 works fine for few minutes then we are seeing how packets dropping. Voice call are with knocks with very bad quality and network speed is floating between 60-17mbps. we loose every second ping

Same core switch is used for other HP switches which are installed on other floor and works fine

Where I should look to fix this problem?

Sound like a loop, maybe a STP loop?
Are Alcatel and Dell "speaking" a common language? e.g. configure both to plain rstp
(Alactel defaults to Alcatel 1x1)

Is tagging wortking fine?

I had multiple issues with VoIP (mainly Siemens Phones), where people connected both ports of the phone to wall jacks and effectively creating a loop between voice and data vlan. So you may want to see whether this is an issue.. just do divide and conquer:
disable half of the ports on the 6400 and see if problem persists, if yes reenable and disable the other half. If problem is gone, enable half of that disabled ports.. rinse repeat.
Found the port? Take a look at you cable documentation, to know which desk it is, bring a hammer.. a big one!
