Cisco NM-32A ASYNC cable to Console port of Omniswitch 6850

Hi,

What type of cable should I use for this connection?

The design is:

Cisco NM-32A ASYNC module > Cisco Cable CAB-OCTAL-ASYNC (Octopus cable: High density connector to eight RJ-45) > PATCH PANEL > Straight-Trough Cable (???) > Console port of Omniswitch

This has not worked. I have also tried using a rollover cable from patch panel to the Omniswitch console port but again, this has not worked.

Any suggestions please?

Cheers
Fiol

OK an update on this...

So, we have found out that the Rollover cable was right, but not working using a Cisco 3640 Terminal Server (on a known working port). We have switched it to a Cisco 2511 and it works fine.

Physicals are:
Cisco Cable CAB-OCTAL-ASYNC (Octopus cable: High density connector to eight RJ-45) > PATCH PANEL (back)
PATCH PANEL (front) > Rollover/Yost cable (RJ-45-RJ-45) > Console port of Omniswitch 6850U24X

Cheers!
