OXE to Lync via SIP Trunk

Hi guys,
I have a customer who's looking to make calls from an OXE (R10.1) to MSLync and vice versa. Will a simple SIP trunk configured as PSTN do the trick?
Thanks

You might have some issues with the RFC leading to ringback issues. ALU recommends to use an AudioCodes in the middle.

Thanks for the reply Cav.
I did have my doubts but I thought that someone might have managed to succesfully get it to work without a gateway.

Don't think it is possible. The issue are RFCs so unless you have OXE source code then nothing can be done...

Hi Patmul, i didi it without problem and it work very well, with or without Audiocodes.
Starting from rel 9.1, issue with ringback tone is no more present.
Btw, you are in 10.1 and it works perfectly.

That's very interesting agiftel

So you can make calls from the OXE to Lync and vice versa without issues? are you able to send me the Lync set-up please as I have a customer that will definitely be very interested in this.
i have downloaded Lync server in the hope of testing this but you can save me a lot of time.
Thanks again

Hi Patmul,
sorry for delay but email notification of your reply didn't arrived
Btw... it's not so easy share to you Lync configuration... Do you know Lync? First you have to create a PSTN Gateway ( TCP, 5060 ) then you have to publish the topology. After that you have to create a route, PSTN USAGE, and configure parameters into TRUNK... As you can see there are many place where you have to work with. Share just a simple config is not possible.
If you want, and you have Lync password, we can configure togheter. Let me know.

Will contact you next week and do a desktop share if you want to. I'll be installing a Lync server in my lab so we can play around with that and I'll obviously have an OXE running too.

I did it with OXE 9.1, 10.0 and 10.1
With or Without AUDIOCODES.
Right now we are using LYNC 2013 as collaboration in our company. It is linked to our ABC-F Oxe network ( 6 nodes ) using AC MEDIANT 1000 ( QSIG connection toward OXE node 1 and SIP TLS toward Lync server ). At the same time I have a MS LYNC 2013 test enviroment which is connected directly to our ABC-F oxe network by using SIP TRUNK. So we have both scenario and they are working perfectly.
