Question about pw-status-signaling

Hi;
I'm fairly new here, and I evidently have not mastered the search function. Can someone briefly explain the pw-status-signaling statement when provisioning a spoke-sdp in the 7750. One of my vpls's has all interfaces built with that statement, while another does not.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

It governs whether or not the 7750 will try to negotiate and use the pseudowire status TLV to signal if the service has gone down.

If it's not configured, or the other end does not support it, then the 7750 will do a label withdraw to signal status.

The benefit of the TLV is it gives the remote end more information about why the service went down and if there are multiple faults, they can be signalled and cleared individually.
