hi

I have a problem with my omniswitch 6250.

I've enabled the POE in the switch , and connecting 16 IP Phones from port 1 to 16. the problem is the switch keeps rebooting after a while.

does anyone knows what is the problem ?

this is the version of the AOS :

Alcatel-Lucent OS6250-P24 6.6.3.372.R01 GA, May 14, 2012.,

I have multiple 6250-PoE (with ~20-24 IP Phones connected) and never had this issue.

See whether you have any crash-dump files (.pmd .trace ...) in the switch.

try updating the aos to a more recent version (latest ist imho 6.6.3.509), the 372 had some serious issues (at least on 6450) thats why the new GA is 6.6.3.4XX

Thanks.

But you know i was reading the hardware guide. It says that you can use either from port 1 -6 and 23 - 24 or 25-26. Or use from 7 to 22. They said only one range of ports can be used.

Do you have any idea about this ?

where did you find that?

It is correct that you can only use PoE on 23/24 OR 25/26 (switch to 25/26 with "lanpower 1 combo-port enable")
I have never heard of the 1-6 or 7-22 rule..
It maybe that you mixed that with the 802.3at PoE+ (with up to 25,5W PoE) which is only available on Port 1-6 and the combo Ports? You can still use "normal" PoE on all Ports (1-24) as long as you Power Budget is not fully used.

Upgrade away from the 6.6.3.372
