hai,

i have customer who is using oxo-l system along with alcatel analog phones(model 2410MA).The problem is whenever an external call is recived on these phones (2410MA)the ringing is not proper i.e,its just gives a beep sound instead of full ring. But when an internal call is recived the phone rings properly(full ring). And if i connect any other model phones to the same extn the phone rings properly(both for external and internal calls).i think its the phone problem, but is their any programming to rectify this problem other than to change phones as almost 200 instruments are of same model(2410MA).

pls help me in this regard

Thanks and regards

You can change the ringing cadences with PM5/OMC software.
Change the Ringing parameters in the System Miscellaneeus / Memory Read/Write / Other Labels menu:

1st byte: ⇒ Defines the number of ring sequences used 1 to 6 (01h to 06h)
2nd byte: ⇒ System data – Do not modify
3rd byte: ⇒ 01h = ringing active
4th byte: ⇒ Duration of ringing
5th byte: ⇒ 00h = silence
6th byte: ⇒ Duration of silence
7th byte: ⇒ 01h = ringing active
8th byte: ⇒ Duration of ringing
9th byte: ⇒ 00h = silence
10th byte: ⇒ Duration of silence

You need to modify the durations of ringing timers. A warm reset is necessary!

If you want to modified any other ringing parameters, U have to use the Numeric Addresses menu, because U can see only the analogue sets external calls in the other labels.

You can find more info about these Ringing parameters in the Alcatel Technical Documentation No.80 file.

Name of the Label = Ringing. In the System Miscellaneous / Memory Read/Write / Other Labels. You need to modify 4th and 8th byte as marked in steve's post with red color.
The latest is TC number 80 edition 5.

Hai et,

thanks for the replay.Regarding the changing of the bits ,both 4th and 8th should be of same value or i have try the combination ? and what should be the max value that can be given to the 4th and 8th bit ? and where can i get the noteworthy details of oxo ?

and if i transfer a call to particular extn, and if nobody attends its then i retrieve the call by pressing the GenREs key button but the extn where i transfered the call will be still be ringing.
to stop it i need to press release button...so to solve this problem any suggestion pls.

thanks and regards

You can make some experiments. 1 unit = 100 ms. I give you example. For better view and understanding, I prefer Decimal format instead of Hex. We have the next string: 004 000 001 003 000 003 001 003 000 040 000 000 000 000. It means 4 cadencies: 300ms ringing, 300ms no ringing, 300ms ringing, 4sec no ringing. For example, we want to change to next: 1sec ringing, 2 sec no ringing, 1sec ringing, 2sec no ringing. The string will be: 004 000 001 010 000 020 001 010 000 020 000 000 000 000. After modifying click Modify, tick Relevant to remember, that you have modified, then Write. Technical communication No 80 edition 05 you can download from knowledgebase on http://www.businesspartner.alcatel-lucent.com. But you must have login and pass.
Sorry, about second question - I don't understood them. Please make it more clear. For example: extn 111 call extn 112, after that 112 call 113 and what? Make transfer or something else?

Hi Alcarex,

Yes this is normal. If you make a second call you must push the release key at first, and after you can retrieve the first caller with the GenRes key.
(If you use a set without release key, you can find a code in the features in conversation table: Cancel Enquiry.)

If You think about the History Anomalies tables, U can find some info in the Expert documentation (the latest one: 3EH21093UASAA-Ed.02-May2007).
You can download it from the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Knowledge Base website.
