Trace MAC Address of port on 6850

Hopefully this is a silly question with an easy fix...

Is there a way to trace back from a PC the port address on the switch it is connected to?

This will allow remote assistance rather than phyically having to chase the cable.

Make a floor plan?

Large amount of re-patching means I would spend large amount of time editing a floor plan! If users were static and desk layout never changed then this would work.

If I can find out all Mac addresses connected to a stack I can trace a PC this way also. Ideally it would be more usefull to find out the switch port from a PC.

Can it be done?!?

I am just going to search for the address using 'show mac-address-table' on the stack (via 'show amap' if needed through a core switch). From what I can see I would have to download (and possibly purchase) additional software to chase the address back via the PC.

Well.. what you can do is
show mac-address-table , and find the mac address you are looking for.
This will show you what port it is connected on the 6850.
