I have to upgrade my 7750SR which has only 4gb memory.
During update several times full bgp table it crashed.
Anybody let me know how to upgrade system memory ? is it possible to extend any DDR3 memory or I need to have specific one?
Thanks

Hi,
Don't think you can 'upgrade' your memory on the CFM - at least not heard of it ever being done. Guess you have CFM3 which has 4GB - CFM4 I think has 8GB, so maybe worth considering.
Not sure your issue will be just insufficient RAM for full table, as have injected over a million routes etc previously and not seen any issues. Have you tried using a different CFM? Are you holding many different copies of same routes, say in rib-outs etc?
Cheers

we found one memory stick for a 7710. but it was a weird one to get - micron chips and everything else must match.
other vendor sticks didn't work.
we have not tried to change memory for 7750s.
to work with more than 3gigs it should be x64, right? I don't know if the OS is x64..

I don't believe the CPMs are field upgradable. A CPM3 has 4Gb, CPM4 has 8Gb and CPM5 16Gb.
Only SR OS Release 12 is 64-bit. So even with the 4Gb CPM3, more memory is available for the OS when running R12.
