Port blocking state

Hello,

I have a port on one of my Alcatel OS6450 switches which is going into the blocking state but I have other ports with a similar configuration and no issue.

I cannot see anything in the logs which says what is causing the issue.

Does anyone have any ideas or is there a way to increase the logging to be able to possible see what is causing this issue?

Could it be a faulty transceiver/ fibre patch lead?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

What do you mean with port blocking?
STP?
User Port?
loopback-detection?
UDLD?
Link fault propagation?

What config do you have?
What is the config?
What is connected to this port?

show interface 1/x port
show vlan port 1/x
show spantree [vlan] port

put up some debuging.

it was something like: swlog debug app-id (stp, interface, etc) debug1-2, and check the logs.

Hi,

It turns out it was a faulty transceiver but thanks for the info I will look into it to see if there is anything it can offer me.

Thanks.
