We have setup a virtual extension (340) that has an immediate diversion to an external number. The auto attendant has been setup so that key: 3 rings 340, which is then diverted externally.

1. When calling 340 internally it works just fine and diverts immediately as expected.
2. When calling the auto attendant internally and choosing option 3 it works just fine and diverts immediately as expected.
3. When calling the auto attendant externally and choosing option 3 it rings once and then cuts back to the auto attendant. I have also confirmed that the external phone is actually ringing once and then cutting off.

Nothing has changed on the phone system and yet this issue appeared. It will work one day and then not work the next day at the moment and I cannot figure out what the issue is. Can someone please help? Do you have any advice or can you point me in the right direction?

Ok, i should probably have said "nothing has changed to my knowledge"

Really at a loss here, i've tried creating new virtual basestations with the same immediate diversion in place and it does the same thing.

I guess some timer or category has been modified. No clue which one only.
By any chance you have a previous backup?

Maybe if you chage debug label---other labels--AATypTrf set it to 00

The backup I have is very old, there have been many changes since then. Where can I find the debug level? I'm using the OmniPCX software tool.

omc---system misc --debug labels--other labels and search for this label
