Omnivista 4760 service pack upgrade

Hi,

I have 4760 installled in Windows 2003 server service. My Network administrator wants to install Service pack 2 in the server. Is there any impact on the 4760 application if we install it? Do we need to uninstall the application before installation of service pack 2?

Specifically, what is your OmniVista4760 release-version? You may refer to the technical documentations with your concern.
Meanwhile, as example, OmniVista4760 R5.1.06.00.c can be installed in Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition with either SP1 or SP2. Relating to the example, you can install upgrade of service pack 2 based on your requirement.

My version is 5.2. The thing is it's already installed in Server 2003. They want to install SP2. Can we install SP2 without disturbing the application?

Since the initial requirement to install OV4760 is with either SP1 or SP2, upgrading the service pack in your installed OS to SP2 is compatible based on my observations on the specifications.

Will it cause any service impact? Like will anything happen to the datas..

Please take note that it was my observations based on the OmniVista4760 OS specifications. I've neither tried nor performed such however I believe there will be no negative implications since the requirement of SP2 had passed the minimum OS requirements. Hence, I can say that upgrading your Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition from SP1 to SP2 is still compatible in OmniVista4760.

make a 4760 server full backup and perform sp2 your upgrade , in any case you restore the server from db backup
