What do you mean - when say "hot line"? Establish connection without dialling (just lift handset) or manage some connection when dialled some number (f.e. 911).

read - system documentation - system doc/ user services/ Automatic off-hook dialing (hotline)

I have extension here and the other extension is connected to different pbx (not alcatel ) >>>>what I need is when I pick up the handset I directly connected to the other ext.

You have some problem with system doc (available on this site)?
But why not:
1) manage phone feature COS (not used by users) - item "Routing Mode At Off Hook=Direct Routing"
2) manage user parameters - declare phone feature COS (from stage 1), and item "Routing Table" f.e.=1
3) specific telephone services/ routing table - create Routing table 1 with call number what you want.

When user will lift handset - will be dialled number from routing table.

His brain must be hurting with all those terms hehe

Hi ofcorse VAD as other many others Gurus are very helpful people .
to abdo i remeber when i start with A4400 , the installer put it in serve and he left , i have had only system doc in hand and 4740/hypert to play with it. i found the hotline when i was consulting the FEAUTURE COS N 30 of corse i have telecom certificat so those technical terms weren't magic for me ,
you should understand what's Phone features COS,Public access COS, connection COS ,any way oy should read system doc .
BY the way this is a test for you do you know that there is same feature hotline but it's a delayed DIRECT ROUTING ? in with cos is it?
