Dynamic linkagg scenario

Hi!

We're in a position where we want to have a 2-port connection towards another company, but they won't be able to use a linkagg on their end but will have one primary port manually active, and if it fails -> manually open the secondary port.

On our end I want to configure it as a linkagg though, so we don't have to manually configure vlans on both ports but only on the linkagg. I would assume we want to use a dynamic linkagg and not a static, but what about LACP? Obviously the other company won't respond to any such packets or requests. How would the configuration look like to configure a linkagg such as this?

Thanks in Advance!

Hi,
in this unusual setup you can't use LACP (= dynamic). I would prefer to use two single ports with all vlans at both ports. But you have to test the behavior if both ports are connected: is spanning tree working fine than? flat/1x1 mode? Also you can try to create a static linkagg.
