I have users that when they are on the phone (ip touch 4038) for about 10 minutes their phones become muted or something. They have to hang up and call back to be able to be heard again. The person on the other line sounds crystal clear the whole time.

Check your network, it is closing the rtp communication.
And yes, firewall guys will say nooooo never...make them look
