WLAN Help

Post by garth »

Hi,

I wasn't sure if i should post this here or in the not technically trained forum but here goes.

In my office I currently have 8 AP's that connect to the OmniAccess switches and use this SpectraLink Voice Priority server. If you have read any of my other posts in this forum you would probably have figured out our Mobile IPTouch 300 handsets dont work very well as they cut out intermittently sometimes just 1 phone or sometimes a large group of them and this is when they are mobile or just sitting at the same workstation and come up with this Assert.Memory.C Ln 561 error. I keep downloading the errors of the phone and sending to Alcatel R&D but this doesn't seem to be getting anywhere fast as its already been an issue for over a year!

I was wondering maybe since R&D keeps updating the binaries and it keeps coming up with the same issue that I could be an issue using our AP's or the an issue with the SVP server but I'm not really sure. We have about 20-30 IPTouch 300 sets and they all have the issue, it seems to be worse the more users that are using the sets at the same time.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what tests I could do to try and fix this issue? I was thinking of maybe using 802.11 QoS and changing the core switches and AP's to cisco but I wasn't sure if this kind of set up would conflict more with the OmniPCX? If anybody has any advise it would be great. Also what do you guys think of the 310/610 Handsets, Would upgrading the handsets help? Or maybe we just need more APs but I didn't think Voice uses that much Bandwidth?

Cheers for reading even if ya can't help, its a long post so thats a huge effort in itself! haha

Has anyone been able to help you with this yet? I would like to see that you remain with an Alcatel-Lucent WLAN infrastructure.

Please update.

Hey,

Sorry for the delayed response been very busy at work and haven't had any time to look at this site.

Placed the Wireless sets in a different subnet and it worked a treat!
