When transferring calls...

Hi all,

My boss recently gave me the great news that he wants me to look after the Telephony system as well - I'm just a mere network admin and have no idea about these things.

Have a small query that I guess should be easy to resolve, copy and paste from our receptionist who is using the OmniPCX4400.
When I transfer a call to someone's phone, if they don't answer the phone I used to be able to press the "hang up" button and I would get the call back. Since the phone guy came in, if I do this I hang up on the caller. I now have to pick the line up from the "line button". (which can be confusing if I have more than one call on the phone)

The problem is that when I do this, the line thru to the phone I was trying to call in still in use and doesn't hang up until I do, therefore on the small phones I can't do anything with the call because those phones only allow me to transfer one call. (the phone thinks I have 2 callers) I can receive more than one call but I can't do anything with them. ie: transfers
This happened after an alcatel tech came in to setup our system to use PimPhony.. any suggestions? Much appreciated...

Are you sure your system is Omnipcx4400?
You said alcatel technician was trying to setup your system to use Pimphony.
As far as I know, pimphony wotks with A4200E and OXO.
