Problems to add one user ip touch 4068

Hi.
I have a virtual machine with version 7. I tried to register a 4068 ip touch and not let me. I get the following error:

I have followed the process that shows slim on its website:

The smart way : renew the 30 days period by renaming /usr3/mao/software.mao to /usr3/mao/software.old, then reboot. Do it again the other way around.
Say us the process that i followed:
A. Rename / usr3/mao/software.mao / to usr3/mao/software.old
B.reboot
C. Delete / usr3/mao/software.mao
D. Rename / usr3/mao/software.old / to usr3/mao/software.mao
E. Reboot
Perhaps I did not understand the process that shows slim, someone I could elaborate further.

Well if you search on the forum that was my aport

Now the correct way is:

rename software.mao to software.old (mv not cp)
make sure there is no software.mao anymore (del software.mao)
now reboot
now re-rename (mv software.old software.mao and yes to replace warning message)
now reboot again and walla.
