802.1x authentication

Post by maxmania »

Hello everyone!!

I need some guidance to be able to understand the 802.1x configuration on OV2500.
I have a OV2500 4.4R2 demo lab installed on my VMware, one OS6450 switch a Sonicwall Firewall and one AP1101.

I have all this devices on OV, I have setup a pre-shared Key WI-FI network, and everything is running.
Now I want to upgrade my lab to be able to use the 802.1x upam authentication, on the wifi network and on the ethernet switch port.
I have seen the Alcatel YouTube videos, I have read the documentation, but I'm lost. Where do I start??

Does anyone can point me the steps to do it??

The scenario I want to build and understand

I want to have 2 vlans (coporate and guest).
Vlan corporative should be 802.1x authenticated ( wired or wireless) and the guest vlan should use a simple captive portal with the conditions agreements only ( wired or wireless).
On the Wi.Fi, I should have two different SSId, but on wired access, we should be able to assing the guest vlan when the 802.1x authentication fail.

Can anyone help me, os point me some documentation?

Best regards

José

Try the workflow within OV: UPAM > Authentication > Workflow >MAC/802.1x
it is too much to explain - but it will help you a lot.
