OMC R40 – change database path

Hello,
I recently upgraded from OMC r32 to r40. In 32, I was able to somehow change the directory to store saved databases, but now I cannot remember how I did this. In 40, now, the path is fixed to a directory in Documents and I cannot figure out how to change it. This default location is a bit inconvenient because it isn't accessible to other users.
No amount of changing omc.ini files (there are two, one in the installation directory and one in ProgramData) and guessing at likely registry keys has had any effect. Is there a way to do this at all?
