mobile vlan on 10gb port

Hello,

I have a short question..

I want to apply the vlan mobile command to a 10 Gb port on a OS6850-P24X / -24X (6.4.3.520.R01).
The switch is in an stack with 5 others.

background information: I want to connect a HP Server and the vm's on this server will be in different vlan's.

If I send the command vlan port mobile 4/26, I get an error:

Port is absent or not a mobility candidate (tagged, aggregable, stacking, mirroring or vpls_access port)

There is no 802.1q tag on the port and nothing else is configured on this port.
I used both stacking ports at the rear end of the switch. Is it possible, that they are "connected" like the combo ports?

TY for any help!
Alex

yes at the 6850 the ports 25 and 26 are 10Gig-XFP-Ports. So normaly no Client is there connect (normal used as uplink). Thats why the port mobility is not allowed there.

Hey Silvio,
thanks for your quick reply every time. I am really thankful for that.

I know that the ports are usually used as uplink.
But I don't see any technical reason why it is not allowed.

So there is no solution / an alternative to configure dynamic vlan's on the 10G xfp ports?

Best Regards,
Alex
