"Write Memory" command not Working well

Post by Tio60 »

Hello All, hoping you be fine and safe.

I am configuring an OS6860-48 I have to configure the following ranges of VLANS:
101-148, 201-248, 301-348 these are almost 150 new vlans.
The configuration is accepted without issues but when I try to save the configuration to WORKING directory using the "write memory" command, the devise returns the following error message after around 6 minutes:

-> write memory

File /flash/working/vcsetup.cfg replaced.
Please wait...
ERROR: Subsystem took more than 600 seconds to reply. Please report this problem

I made a lot of validations and discovered that the maximum numbers of VLAN allowed are 130 and write memory works fine, more that that quantity the command do fail.

Somebody knows if there is a limited number of VLANs allowed or which could be the issue?

Thanks.

The maximum number of VLANs on a 6860E is 4000. Your write memory problem has nothing to do with the amount of Vlans configured.

Things to do:
- Update your switch to the newest software version and try again.
- Reset the configuration to default, boot, login, write the empty configuration to memory, reboot, verify that the configuration is still empty, then apply your configuration.
