Hello.

I have a rack MR3 with the PCH48 power supply. I would like to use an external power supply instead of the 48V battery pack. Does anyone know if it works? What are the use of the connector wires blue, brown and black? I suppose two of them are 0-48V. What is the use for the third? Is it earth? What is the use of each color?

The batteries protect the system from surges too. It's more than a backup.
If you follow the color coded wires, you will find out on the board what they are (+, -, NC)
Not recommended though..
