Linphone SIP Phone De-registers when app is running in background on iOS

Hello Community,
I am testing with a SIP Softphone on the OXE R100.
I am using the Linphone app on iOS, Android.
I have an issue which is specific to iOS. When the Linphone app goes to background the SIP account is de-registered. This means I cant receive calls when the Linphone app is running in the background. I have enabled background app refresh for the Linphone app, I have enabled push notifications for the Linphone app but I am still having the challenge of receiving a call when the app is in background. However on Android I dont have a problem receiving calls while the app is in the background.
I have done some reading on the linphone community and I keep seeing people advise that one can use the PABX to keep the SIP account active/registered through some proxy server management. I dont know how this could be managed.
Please help me if there is anyone who has some information on how to do this or if there is anyother work around.
