Hi,
I´ve got the follwing problem:
We`ve a HP Core running in VRRP mode (172.28.0.100, 172.28.0.101). Virtual IP address ist 172.28.0.100, this is also the default Gateway address for all clients in VLAN_Default
Just changing the whole system to Alcatel VC (4 x OS 6900). Of course we need to keep the default GW address running.
How can I make it possible? I remember that we did this in another installation with the help of a VRRP entry on the OS 6900 VC but no idea how.

Hi Thomas,
normaly I would prefere a short downtime (if you are quick than it should be possible in some seconds). Your VC don't need VRRP anymore. You only need to configure the IP interface (in your case 172.28.0.100) and disable this. Than make sure that the VC is reachable. And than in the same time disable VRRP at both HPs and enable the IP interface at ALE. It will take some seconds because there is a new MAC. Thats wy all clients need to do ARP request. The benefit at the end is that at the new switch is no VRRP running.
If there is no chance with this short interruption you can activate VRRP (with same virtual IP, same VRRP-ID) at the VC. For this you need to create a new physical IP (f.e. 172.28.0.102 - or you "stole" one from the HP). First I would use a lower VRRP priority like HP. If VRRP is running as Backup at ALE you can change the priority to a higher than at HP. Because VRRP use a virtual MAC too there should be no interruption. But you have all the time VRRP running now.
