Port Mirroring question for 6900

Hi ya'll, Had a quick question.

Can I setup port mirroring to rather than go only to a specific port it goes to a specific vlan? like I have a VM cluster that I cant manually configure a mirror port on the cluster itself but I can configure QTagging for it. So if I have my network sensor say looking for vlan 1500 and that vlan is the mirror destination would that work?

Thanks Ya'll

I dont think you can do it for a vlan rather than for a port. At least I dont see an option for it.
I'm wondering however, and based on your description, if maybe what you are looking for is "High Availability Vlan" (server cluster commands), or maybe less likely "Server Load Balancing"?
If you have a 6900 then those features are available for you to use and they might just be what you are looking for!

You can try it with the remote port mirror feature
F.e. use vlan 800 tagged at the server site (but not at the switch)

Code: Select all

vlan 800 name remote-mirror
spantree vlan 800 admin-state disable
port-mirroring 1 source port 1/1/24 destination linkagg 2 rpmir-vlan 800
Destination can be a LAG or a port. LAG is not possible at 6360, 6465,6570M.
Vlan 800 should not be used at other ports.
