Demaged Flash on OS7700

Post by nds-gmbh »

Hello @ all,

we'd a demaged Flash on OS7700. Now we've replaced it with the same chip which we bought in internet.
After copying the flash files via Z-Modem to the new one, the following message occured.
I tried to reset the flash in miniboot but as it seems the nfsHelp command is not supported, althought it's shown
in the Help.

Has anybody a clue how we can get the flash running again?

Regards, Joern

Hi Joern,

---> Regarding your log: It seems the webview image is missing or corrupted.

First it is important to format the flash in a way the AOS can work with. Did you format the flash correctly? I mean the right file system, cluster size etc.

If the answer is "No":
Miniboot-> diskInit "/flash"

After you did that (and it was fine!), create the /flash/working and /flash/certified directory.

Upload ALL the image files to the "working" directory through zModem (sysStartZmodem)

Copy all the images from working to certified (just to avoid that you have to tell the switch to boot from working)
Miniboot-> cp "working/*.img","certified/"
(This might take some seconds...)

After you did that reboot and see if it is working fine. (I expect that you know how to set the BAUD rate to have faster serial connection for the image transfer)

Please attach FULL console logs, not only the error message!

One last note: This is definitely not supported by ALU!
