Upgrade oxo R2.1-7.0

I must upgrade oxo from 2.1 (CPU-1,) to 7.0 (only Voice, no e-business).
Ok, first update to last 2.1 Release than plug HD. Than i use Lola to update 7.0.

Now i have a fresh system R7.0.
My supplier says I must config the system from beginning.

What? Is there no way to transfer database?

you should use OMC R7 to copy the R2.1 database. then once the system has been lola'd to R7.0 you should be able to import the database. there may be a few errors but importing a second time should do the trick. anything that fails to import shouldnt take long to program compared to reprogramming the whole thing.

Did that. On migration step LoLa did copy the database on a folder on my computer, but after installing 7.0 didn't restore the database on the fresh release. To my surprise I was able to restore the database saved with OMC 700, but only part of it came ok (only users, not all the numbering plan, no TG config, nothing else). So I had to use export from the database saved from R2.1 and restore to working R7.0 database (users, speed dial) and redo the most of configuration by hand .

If I were you I would go for a migration in 2 or 3 steps (I think my problem was with database translation from 2.1 directly to R7.0); that is migration mono cpu from 2.1 to 4.0 and then from 4.0 to 5.1. When you have 5.1 you can save database and convert it to 7.0 using DBAdaptor and simply install R7.0 on CPU and restore this database; and/or try to migrate once more to R7.0.

With migration from any release up to 7.x you should be able to do it in one go.

Save the database with the latest version of OMC

LoLa the system to the new software release.

Reload the database using the one saved using the latest version of OMC.

For systems > 6.0 I would strongly suggest that the noteworthy addresses are not transferred as a lot of changes have been done to the structure of these tables, if there are settings that need to be kept from these then make a note and re do them by hand

Normally you make a backup with the latest OMC (700 10.1b) from the release 2.1. Upgrade as you described above latest 2.1 release etc, after that you can restore from the backup the config. Sometimes you get an hardware not OK error. If you have that login the system you get a screen for customer info fill the mandatory field and logout. Than try to restore from the backup. You don't have to program from scratch. See TC1053.

- plugin HD
- start with assist okokokokokok on Advanced
- backup with latest omc
- Lola R7.0 with new license
- start with assist okokokokokok on Advanced
- Restore Data with OMC
- set new IP and password
- restart
