Dear All,

Right now our Company is configuring Omnipcx Enterprise 4400 with release 7.1 with security patch

i have several question :

1. How to configure Tales Security Box ( SSM ) correctly ?

2. Where can i find the manual configuration document for it ?

3. While installing the SSM software using the original cd, the system asked me to load a file with *.PSK file format ? where can i find it ? and what is *.PSK ? is it license ?

4. How many user are allowed to use the Tales Security Box ( SSM )? is it limited ?

are you trained on the 4400 normally i dont ask this but from what i have see the IP touch security config is convoluted at best.... This is one thing i would leave to a BP

True, configuring these boxes are complicated and can carry a lot of problems if bad configured. Ask to your provider to provide such support.

There is a technical communication regarding ip touch security.
If you read it, it explains every step from A to Z on how to configure the encryption.

Unless if you KNOW what you are doing, I highly recommend to let a Business Partner do it.

I have 3 SSM and 8 MSM and Alcatel Pro Serivces configured these for the new Thales HQ in the UK so it is best to get a BP to do the these as the wrong ip@ can cause all kinds of problems

Hello all,
I have SSM and MSM configured and worked well but 1 additionnal MSM does not want to work. It's release (software version) is 1.3 instead of 2.1 (as the other boxes who work). Is anyone knows how to upgrade the software version of MSM?
Thanks,
Regards,
Guipo

It will do it by itself.
Most likely, if you have your MSM connected to a switch where you have spanning tree, it's not going to work.
So for the first boot up, connect the MSM on a clear port of the SSM.

Let us know how it worked for you.

I work for A BP in the UK and am certified on this Encryption. To be honest, there isnt much to them, however, agreed with the rest, you should leave these to an expert, as one incorrect parameter on the oxe, and MSM/SSM, causes the system to stop responding if encryption is enabled !
