Post by talkhalidi »

Hi all ,

GD on the top right , CS on down right , GA on top left.

i want to administer the GA , what is the board address for it? is it 2? GD location board 0 ? why dont they just lable the slots ?

please guys , i need to administer the GA-2 , and im not sure if i put the right board number or address?

how i can get also the MAC address for GA-2? what is the function of GA-2?

Shelf have number 1, GA number 1, GD - 0, CS - 8.
Boards number - first row 1,2,0, middle row - 3,4,5, down row - 6,7,8.
MAC address for GA board you can see on board (when unplug), via com port (on GA board) - but for GA board - not necessary to know MAC address - just decleare IP address (board/ ethernet parameters).
For GD - decleare MAC address (IP address decleared on GD or via DHCP). :D
GA - auxiliary board (when you need more then 3 3-party conference, additional VG, more codecs or when you want to use voip not from GD).

Everything is in Documentation.
R8.0 System Documentation\Installation manuals\Hardware:Platforms and Interfaces\S and L racks installation\S and L racks presentation\Hardware description\Board Position in the Racks.

here is my version of the graphical view:

consider the numbers are the actual boards...

---------------------------
| 1 | 2 | 0 |
---------------------------
| 3 | 4 | 5 |
---------------------------
| 6 | 7 | 8 |
---------------------------
