Auto Attendant Woes

Is there a way to have the caller simply dial the extension without having to press a number first. Currently our AA message is "....Press 1 if you know the extension, Press 2 to dial by name, Press 3 ......"
We would like it to say "....If you know the extension of the person you are calling, please enter it now...To search the company directory, press 2."
Our extensions are 4 digits, starting with a 5.
We have an OXE with the 4645 VM. Apparently you used to be able to do this with the 4635, but now you can't?!?

One other thing about the auto attendant...When we dial by name, for some users(not all), their name is returned twice. For example, if I key s-m-i for John Smith, the attendant comes back and says "For John Smith, press 1, For John Smith, press 2" I do not know why....I have checked the users settings, and they are identical to others which this does not happen. I have also deleted the user and added them back, same thing.

Any thoughts?

It's a known bug, and it's being corrected by Alcatel.

FOr the 4645 dialing an extension, I think you can't do that. You'll need a 4635

You can dial an extension number on the 4645. Regarding the prompt to dial the extension number - there is no way that you can do this in 4645 OR 4635 as a first option without a press digit request. Two solutions might be (not optimal but!!)
1 - Incoming call to DISA answer first then overflow to AA
2 - AA answer and timeout to new leaf with extension number prompt, but be careful of this as callers who don't know the ext number and have overflowed to this may loop in the AA.
