Hi. I was wondering if it was possible to provision/configure the iptouch 4068 without it communicating with the 4400? I've set up the ip on it manually, but it doesn't seem like it finds any tftp server (or the files it should be looking for...)

but before I delve too far into it... is this phone able to download a SIP stack so it can communicate SIP natively with "any" sip-registrar?

No, these phones are propetary of Alcatel. No SIP with 3rd parties or H323 or nothing.

You said in the future - so this is something that alcatel has "promised" or do they have other phones available NOW with a SIP stack?

The alcatel guy here keep saying they are sip compliant but he's never around to give any hard facts so we're kind of stumbling about...

hang on a minute guys - what about SIP surviveability for '8' series phones in R9??? And Only on the new 'ee' sets if I am right.

Alcatel promised that SIP survivability support will be included in EE phones in I quarter.

at present doc's say 4008/4018 R9.0 and 4028/38/68 in R9.0.1.

But what does this surveability feature will do?
