We have a OXE .If somebody leaves a VM i cannot call back the person. Atfirst VM tries to transfer it to the outside no. and then it says "that extension is not valid". Any Ideas...??????

I think what Dan is trying to say is that after you listen to a message (4645 VM System), using a 4039 or 4038 set, one of the options is call notify. What this should do when pressed is call back the person who left the message. On our system, if the message was from an internal user, the call notify works fine. If the message was from an external caller, the VM system attempts to call the number but fails. The number the VM system records for the caller always has a 1 in front even if the caller is local - I think this may be the problem, because when you press "Call Notify" the system tells you the number it's going to call...which includes a 1. If I try to manually dial the local number with a 1 in front, it fails.
I hope this is enough, does anyone use this feature?

Last time I heard this feature was not working even though voicemail offers it. That may have been a few releases ago though. Does it put the one in front because of the external translator. Do you have 10 digit dialing or seven?
