Duplicated Appliance server
Hi All,
There is a system equipped with duplicated appliance server. Now the St-By CPU is in UNDEFINED state continuously
(insted of standby).
I'v tried to make reboot, database synchronizatin on St-By CPU, without result. The St-By CPU works as MAIN roled one
disconnected it's Ethernet port from the LAN.
Has anybody an idea what is to be done to work standby CPU in the right role?
(I didn't try to restart the main CPU up to this time...)
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
S.

Re: Duplicated Appliance server
A few questions:
1 - What software version are we talking about?
2 - Do you get a login prompt on the "UNDEFINED" CPU?
3 - Can you post the reboot captures?
4 - A view of the netadmin (mask the first 2 bytes!)
5 - Are the AS's on the same VLAN?
My advice - don't restart the main just yet!!

Hi,
Thanks for your reaction!
A few questions:
1 - What software version are we talking about? The sw release is 7.0
2 - Do you get a login prompt on the "UNDEFINED" CPU? Yes, a normal prompt (not (E) )
3 - Can you post the reboot captures?
4 - A view of the netadmin (mask the first 2 bytes!)
5 - Are the AS's on the same VLAN? No, they are in a separated LAN
The reboot stops before starting telephony application on st-by CPU.
The St-By CPU is able to become a MAIN one, in case of removing LAN cable!

Re: Duplicated Appliance server
Can you post incvisu (main CPU)?

Re: Duplicated Appliance server
There is no information related to this issue in incidents on main CPU! It seems, as main CPU ignore st-by CPU!
Re: Duplicated Appliance server
Try checking the netadmin in the standby cpu.

Re: Duplicated Appliance server
I synchronized database on st-by CPU (mastercpopy twincpu). It has successfully done. The netadmin is right filled.
Re: Duplicated Appliance server
From what I see it could be a case of a wrong IP config on either or both of the CPU's. To be able to mastercopy the DB's, the standby CPU had to be stopped before telephony, therefore the basic setup seems to be correct. But when you are trying to run telephony on the standby it is trying to take the main role as it does not "see" the other CPU as main.
If you want to reboot the main, go ahead, it is your choice but i still think that something is not right.

Re: Duplicated Appliance server
Hi,
I have to declare that restart of main CPU made a success of this issue.
Now both CPU are working properly.
It is very hard to hunt for the real reason.
Nathless thanks for your check-in!:)
Best regards from Hungary,
Sándor
