Hello

I have a 4038 who need a password for enter in parameters (i#), i have tried many (0000, 1234...) but i don't find.
I don't know the lenght of this password and if it use alpahabetic caracters.
Have you ever seen this problem?

You may format the flash of 4018 set using the following procedure as stated below:

1) Connect a PC and 4018 in a HUB or switch, or cross cable
2) Change the IP address of your PC to 192.168.1.10
3) Unplug the power cable of faulty 4018 and press the keys i, 1,2 and 3 simultaneously
4) Plug the power cable now (with the i, 1,2,3 keys pressed)
5) Wait for the LED to glow and one the LED are off, stop pressing the keys i,1,2,3
6) From the PC telnet to faulty 4018 ( telnet 192.168.1.1)
7) You will get the prompt as NoePhone > now enter the following commands
config set x.x.x.x y.y.y.y z.z.z.z ( where x is the new IP address, y is the new subnet mask and z is the new default router address)
9) config tftp addr a.a.a.a (where a.a.a.a is the tftp ( logical main) address
10) You should get config OK as acknowledgement

Unplug the power, connect the Faulty 4018 in customer LAN and the connect the power again; it should come in-service with the current password.

I have tried but it doesn't work, i have to change the mode "static" to "dynamic" or "dynamic Alcatel", is it possible?

I have find the solution:

config dhcp a (for Alcatel only)

Try thales which is the default pass when the phone had encryption.

THALES is the password by default.

Hi,
My 4038's don't have the default password and when i telnet them (192.168.1.1) i dont get the NoePhone > prompt.

I have a NoePhone> prompt .. ... I already did the "reset flash" so it should be everything in default config or factory settings.

During the initial power-up of the ip phone via poe from a switch I pressed the # and i to interrupt the boot sequence and shows me a password request with a check on the upper left hand and an enter at the upper right hand corner
For the password ..
I tried 0000, 1234
I also tried "thales" and "THALES"(I pressumed the up arrow is the shift key)

... none works

My objective is to see the Menu settings. Please help ...

connect the phone to an oxe callserver where the noe password is off.
