What are your experiences with the DECT site survey?
- How's the kit?
- How good are the instructions?
- How many corrections are to be made afterwards?

Thanks

The DECT site survey kit from Alcatel-Lucent (well the one we have) is just a 4200 C cabinet with two dect sets. You place the DECT basestation where you need too, run the usual commands on the DECT (turn off, then hold red on hook, speaker and on button) and then when it is booted up press and hold 9 for an accurate signal strength (going by the bars on the top is not a proper readout).
Never had a problem with it. I think it works great

Thanks John,
What about the results? Does the survey pan out correctly, or is there a lot of location tweaking afterward?

Nope, the DECT survey kit is very good, it is a mobile briefcase (BIG CASE) that you situate in a part of the building, then walk around with the Mobile DECT and test signal strength. when you get to your weak point you mark down and basically place another a bit further away, so the signal area covered does not fully overlap. If they overlap too much then you get issues with calls when they transfer between.

Depending on the size of the building, what walls are inbetween the basestation points all determine strength, but again it will show this on the screen of the DECT set.
So for example two buildings the same dimensions, one a warehouse and one an office block, you would need less for the warehouse due to the fact there are less walls blocking it.... Usual thing really.
