IPDesktopSoftphone

Post by jmb »

Hi all,

I have an OmniPCX R7.1-f5.401-11-e-fr-c0 and I installed IP Desktop SoftPhone 1.0.2.5 on a Notebook.
When I launch SoftPhone whith Notebook connected on a wire network Link, all is OK.
When I launch Softphone with Notebook connected on a wireless link on through a VPN link on ISP connexion at home, the Softphone does not connect immediatly to OmniPCX. I have to wait from few minutes to few hours (!) before it succeeds in connecting...
On OmniPCX, "incvisu" shows many attempts of connections :

03/10/07 14:56:11 000001M|19/03/0/225|=3:0378=Incident de sig. sur Poste IP 11,(19,1),fc:9f:f3:05:ef:05,4008

...

Is it a bandwidth issue ? Do I have timout values to tune ? Or is there filtering side effects somewhere ?
Any idea ?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Two ideas:
-Check the log in the program directory
-Make a Wireshark capture => MTU size okay?

When it works on the Wire Network Link :

Code: Select all

Thu Oct 04 10:41:10 2007 ****SRV: Main configuation---------------
               : pbxAddr : 172.27.1.1

               : backupPbxAddr2 : 172.27.1.1

Timer 1 is set for 4940C8

Thu Oct 04 10:41:12 2007 MAIN:GetWaveDevices: Wave device : 1 RTP device 0
--EOF--
When it doesn't work on the Wireless Network Link or via through a WAN with VPN :

Code: Select all

Wireshark captures are very similar. MTU have been verified and are the same on the two kind of link (Wire and Wireless).
But it seems that the network load (always low < 5%, delay < 3ms between notebook and OXE) (or OXE activity ?) is involved in this problem. This morning at early time (very low network load), applications take only 30 seconds to start on the wireless link, on the first attempt...
Do somebody use this application on wireless Networks or WAN ?

Thanks again...

No, I didn't but I've seen in Patch 23 a correction for "Ip Desktop Softphone registration does not work"

jmb, does your wireless router (assuming you are using one) have a built in firewall? If so, is it active? If so, what happens when you disable it temporarily just to test your softphone. Depending on your router, you may need to re-boot it after disabling the firewall.

Similarly, are you using firewall protection on your notebook's wireless networking setup? If so, then check if you are using your notebook's firewall for your WIRED setup. If you are then you shouldn't need to turn it off for your wireless link

Well...

I'm waiting for my supplier for the patch 23 (and others...)
"mtu 1300" on OXE doesn't fix my problem...

I continue to investigate... Thanks for your suggestions...

dexxa05, the minimum requirement of OXE version for IpDesktopSoftphone is Release 7.1 and you have to set "Ip Softphone emulation" to YES in user TSC/IP configuration. Are-you OK with this ?

Salut Jean-Marc :)

Yes i'm OK the version of OXE is 7.1 patch 17d

I use ipdesktopsoftphone 1.0.2.4

I create one user with 4068 device and TSC/IP emulation to yes :)

But the soft can't connect to pbx

Merci d'avance
