Number of rings for in coming calls

Post by Daniel J. Melillo »

Question,

I have users at a site on the pcx system that state when they are on a call and a second call comes in the phone only beeps once and before they can put the first call on hold to answer the second incoming call the second call is already going to voicemail. Is there a way to have a set ring or beep longer for a second call coming in that would allow the user time to put the first call on hold and answer the second one? If so where is this done, in the coverage path of the phone or this this a system wide feature? Can this be changed on an indivual users level?

Thanks,

As far as I know, first call and second call follow the same timer before overflow on no reply (timer #4). This is a system timer and same for all users on the node.

Coverage Path? You worked on Lucent Definity, right? I´m missing this great feature. There is another timer called Overflow Timer on waiting. You find it in External Services/Trunk COS/COS of that trunk. It is valid for calls cverflowing to the users´ entity cdt if public network COS has overflow set to yes. Seems like you´re using associated set anyway. As long as these timers work systemwide you may have other problems then. This really sucks........

also check 'multiline parameters' for your users. You need to enable camp on for multiline sets especially required if more than 1 multiline key.
