OXO & 4760 call accounting

Post by bouncer_ie »

Hi All,

I installed 4760 for the first time using the RTM method and all appeared well,I had to create a new carrier from scratch (which was fun!). I seem to have everything in order in that I can run reports see what extension called what numbers for how long etc etc. The problem Ihave is that I cannot get it to apply a cost to the call. I have validated that the carrier is set up ok. WHen I don't use ARS on OXO everything is ok. IN the 4760 documentation it specifically mentions that with OXO using ARS I must set up an indirect carrier. This was only possible to do by creating a new network in the directory as when i declared the oxo in the default network under nmc in the directory it was not available for selection on when creating an indirect carrier. So after doing all this and reactivating ARS I am back to square one!! No cost association.

The big issue here seems to be that most 4760 guys know it on OXE but not OXO and most OXO guys have not implemented 4760!!

Can someone help with this??

Thanks

B

I had some similar problems with OXO-4760.
Try to associate the carrier to trunk line, not to trunk group. (you will find that tickets arrive in 4760 associated to a trunk L01 -analog or N01 - digital - or smth like that - you can see tickets under directory on each user). So you must associate the carrier to each trunk you have in your trunk group.
I believe that this is because in OXO you can associate a trunk to several Trunk Groups.
Even with this configuration I had some issues on one system with several carriers.

Good luck.

In OXO assign a character to the ARS route.
In Omnivista create a indirect carrier prefix with that character related to carrier in which you will configure the cost.

Yes, you're right: the documentation style.

I have only three tabs in accounting Carriers Parameters and Organisation..do you mean Directory? Also what about Trunk Group connections should this be configured in the carrier?

THanks again

Read the DOC first.
Did you even performed a full synchro of Omnivista with PCX?

I read the docs if you read my initial post properly you would see that, I am looking for assistance here not patronisation based on false assumptions.

Under Accounting-->Organization-->NMC-->under user you have records (10 tickets visualized by default). Check a few tickets and see what you have at trunk number. Then configure this "trunk number" with the appropriate carrier under Carrier-->Trunk Group connection.
In this trunk group connection you associate a carrier to a certain trunk.

Or use the method that the doc describes (the one luckyme described even better than the doc).

Regards.
